The world of education is evolving faster than ever, and teachers are at the heart of this transformation.
“Future-Ready Teachers: ICT and AI in the 21st Century Classroom” is a six-day program designed for educators who want to stay ahead in the age of digital learning.

Through a mix of hands-on workshops, collaborative activities, and guided reflections, participants will strengthen their digital literacy, explore the most useful ICT tools, and discover how AI can make teaching more efficient and inspiring. The course also explores how to design inclusive, culturally responsive, and future-oriented classrooms that engage today’s diverse learners.

By the end of the week, teachers will not only understand emerging technologies but also know how to use them meaningfully—to empower students, encourage creativity, and promote lifelong learning.

Day 1 - Course Introduction & Setting Goals

  • Course Introduction:
    • Overview of the course, the school, and the week's activities
    • Icebreakers: Exploring our experiences and perceptions of AI
    • The 21st-century classroom: challenges and opportunities
  • Setting Goals:
    • Identifying needs and goals for each participant and relevant populations
    • Discussing 21st-century learners and the current educational landscape in Europe
    • Group discussions and activities
    • Participant school presentations

Day 2 - Digital Competence and ICT Tools
  • Exploring essential digital tools for modern classrooms
  • Integrating ICT effectively into lesson design and delivery
  • Promoting digital citizenship and online safety
  • Reflection: Responsible and ethical use of technology in schools

Day 3 - Artificial Intelligence in Education
  • Introduction to AI: concepts, myths, and opportunities
  • Exploring AI-powered tools for teachers
  • Practical session: Using AI to create personalized learning experiences
  • Discussion: Balancing AI with human creativity and judgment
  • Reflection and group sharing

Day 4 - 21st-Century Pedagogy and Assessment
  • Innovative teaching approaches: project-based and inquiry-based learning

Day 6 - Course Closure & Cultural Activities

Evaluation of Learning Outcomes

Evaluation format:
Continuous assessment on class participation and self-assessment.
Evaluation criteria:
Participation in class debates, reflection and games.

Evaluation procedures:
Attendance, class participation.

Recognition of learning outcomes

Recognition conditions:
80% attendance to the course and class participation.
Recognition procedures:
The participant and the teacher trainer will be both in charge of recognizing the learning outcomes.
Recognition documentation:
Certificate of attendance. If applicable, submit a paper.

Practical Details

Duration: 1 week or 25 academic hours
Schedule: Classes are from Monday to Friday in the morning or in the afternoon. The definite timetable will be sent at least two weeks before the start of the class. Saturday is reserved for Cultural Activities.
Sundays are for arrival and departure.
Note: other durations and schedules can be arranged on demand.
Certification Details: Our organization is duly registered as en Erasmus Teacher Academy, with OID No. E10333486. Therefore, we issue the appropriate Certificates so that your course and trip get fully funded.
Support: Understanding Academy offers full support in terms of Erasmus+ mobilities, but unfortunately we do not provide transport or accommodation.
